GRAMMY NOMINEES ANNOUNCED

Spokesmen for the Recording Industry Association of America have announced the nominees for the 84 fields of the 61st GRAMMY Awards, which will be presented in Los Angeles on February 10, 2019. Rapper Kendrick Lamar received the highest number of nominations.

Among the fields in which Lamar was nominated are “Best Album,” “Best Recording,” and “Song of the Year.” Drake, a colleague of the rapper’s, was nominated in seven fields.

Musicians Childish Gambino, Lady Gaga, and Cardi B each received five nominations. The famed Kanye West received only one (“Producer of the Year”). Another nomination went to Taylor Swift for her album “Reputation.”

Among the Russian GRAMMY nominees is Dmitri Hvorostovsky, who passed away in November 2017 (his posthumous nomination is in the field of “Best Opera Recording”), as well as Vladimir Gorbik, director of the male choir at the Metochion Church of Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra, and his album “Chesnokov: Teach Me Thy Statutes” (“Best Choral Performance”).
